Appellate Practice

SWR attorneys have substantial appellate experience within a wide variety of cases in federal and state appellate courts. We handle all aspects of an appeal: filing notices of appeal, preparing the appellate record, research, drafting persuasive briefing and presenting oral arguments. We routinely appear in the Eighth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals and the appellate courts of Kansas and Missouri, and have attorneys licensed in the appellate courts of neighboring states.

SWR recently obtained a reversal of a $19,000,000 judgment in Missouri that was entered against a railroad. Before being reversed, it was one of the five largest Missouri judgments for that year. We win on appeal because we understand the critical legal issues that arise while trying cases to juries.
