SWR Adopts a Hillcrest Family

This year, SWR adopted two Hillcrest Traditional Housing families for Christmas. Each family member sent a wish list, which SWR was excited to fulfill. SWR also took up a clothing and toy drive to donate gently used items to Hillcrest. SWR is grateful for the opportunity to provide these families with warmth and comfort his holiday season.

Hillcrest Transitional Housing is a transitional housing program in Kansas City that primarily services women and children. Hillcrest has a proven, 90-day method to move individuals and families from homelessness and to self-sufficiency. Hillcrest serves over 1,020 children, individuals and families each year through its five sites in the Kansas City metro area. Hillcrest also provides rapid re-housing services, intensive case management, and advocacy to address homelessness, poverty, affordable housing and hunger. Hillcrest is the most successful program of its kind in the Kansas city metro area, and has been recognized for best practices by the National Alliance to End Homelessness.
