Overview
Experience

Chad Walker earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City
(UMKC), where he also completed both his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Criminal
Justice & Criminology. Prior to law school, Chad was an NCAA Division 1 track and field
athlete, serving as team captain and setting the school record in the 100 meters.

During law school, Chad served as President of the Student Bar Association,
demonstrating early leadership within the legal community. He gained practical
experience through internships with the United States District Court for the Western
District of Missouri, serving under the Honorable Brian C. Wimes, and the Jackson
County Prosecutor’s Office, where he developed the art of court room advocacy. These
roles provided him with early exposure to both federal and state court litigation, judicial
decision making, and trial preparation.

Following graduation, Chad served as an Assistant District Attorney in Wyandotte
County, Kansas, where he prosecuted high-profile violent felony cases, including
complexed drug distribution cases resulting in death, and tried multiple jury trials to
verdict. He previously served as Legal Counsel for the Kansas Department of
Corrections, defending the agency in civil litigation and advising on compliance,
operational, and risk management matters.

Outside of work, Chad enjoys working out and playing sports. He remains actively
involved in the legal community, serving on the Board of Governors for the Wyandotte
County Bar Association and engaging in local community and volunteer initiatives.
