Elizabeth Evers Guerra is the chairperson of SWR’s Criminal Defense Department. Prior to joining the firm, Elizabeth served the citizens of Wyandotte County, Kansas for over seven years as an Assistant District Attorney. In that role, Elizabeth tried over 20 jury trials for a wide range of criminal offenses, from identity theft and forgery to aggravated robbery and murder. She also spent time in the traffic, juvenile offender, and child in need of care divisions, gaining valuable knowledge of the law in those areas, as well. Elizabeth handled a variety of appeals, preparing appellate briefs and arguing before the Kansas Court of Appeals. Serving clients throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area, SWR’ Criminal Defense Department represents individuals with a variety of legal needs in both Missouri and Kansas. In particular, the firm’s criminal defense team handles municipal and city court offenses, including but not limited to DUI and DWI, minor in possession, theft, drug possession, and traffic tickets.
