Construction Litigation
The SWR construction litigation practice group has over 100 years of combined experience representing general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, suppliers, owners, developers, insurers and sureties in nearly every aspect of construction-related litigation. SWR regularly defends and prosecutes construction and design professional defect cases. Additionally, the SWR construction attorneys have experience with all types of payment issues, including, but not limited to, the filing and defending of mechanic’s liens and lien foreclosure actions, breach of contract and warranty actions and collections and payment-related litigation. When disputes arise before, during or after a project, the attorneys at SWR work closely with our clients to develop cost-effective and reasonable strategies to resolve disputes through mediation, arbitration or litigation. Our practice extends throughout state and federal courts in the entire Midwest.
In addition to our construction litigation services, SWR offers advice and counseling to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, industry standards, government regulations and best practices in order to prevent clients from incurring unnecessary costs and expenses of litigation. We also conduct in-house seminars and training sessions in connection with construction-related issues, along with providing advice and counseling on company policies, manuals and training programs.
SWR attorneys have substantial experience with all of the standard forms of contracts and bonding documents, such as AIA, ConsensusDocs, EJCDC and government-mandated forms. SWRS’ construction lawyers also have significant experience drafting, modifying and reviewing contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, joint venture agreements, lien waivers, indemnity agreements and other construction-related documents to meet the specific needs of our clients.
