SWR Volunteers at Giving The Basics

Giving the Basics is a Kansas City based organization that was established in 2009 after its founders discovered that hygiene products are not covered by any kind of government assistance program.  Giving the Basics developed a strategic way to help thousands in the community in desperate need of hygiene products.  It relies on volunteers (like SWR) and donations to obtain, sort and package hygiene products to deliver to the community.  The hygiene products are distributed to pantries, schools, police and homebound seniors.  Giving the Basics serves over 587,587 people monthly and SWR was so grateful to get to play a role, packaging 2,353 hygiene products during its most recent visit!
